Executive Presence.

The Wall Street Journal published an article this week (entitled “How To Look and Act Like a Leader“) that focused on the topic of “executive presence”.

So what is “executive presence”?  The Wall Street Journal defines it as “a broad term used to describe the aura of leadership”.

From a consulting industry perspective, DARTON GROUP believes that executive presence is key to selling consulting engagements.  Furthermore, we believe it is a critical success factor for consultants.  We decided to roll-up our shirtsleeves this week and do an impromptu study on the topic of executive presence.

Our research led us to find Paul Aldo, President of Executive Presence Inc. (formerly IPS), an Atlanta-based executive consulting firm.  Paul believes there are 9 expressive qualities of executive presence that include:

  1. Candor
  2. Clarity
  3. Openness
  4. Passion
  5. Poise
  6. Self-Confidence
  7. Sincerity
  8. Thoughtfulness
  9. Warmth
