Earlier this week, the team at Darton Group reviewed findings from a compensation study recently completed by Hewitt Associates (www.hewittassociates.com), the world’s largest provider of HR business process outsourcing (BPO).  The findings were published online at www.cfo.com

The findings?

Based on surveys with more than 1,000 firms, Hewitt Associates learned that overall base salaries in corporate America will increase by an average of 3.8% in 2009 (compared to 3.7% in 2008 and 2007).  And the good news for executives in accounting, consulting and legal?  Executives can expect above-average pay increases averaging 4.6% this year.

Hewitt Associates further reports that the 4.6% average base-pay increases for accounting, consulting and legal executives is 2nd only to oil and gas industry executives (who will likely average base-pay increases of 5.5%).

And a statistic of particular importance to executives in Charlotte – – Hewitt Associates reports that executives working in banking and finance will see base pay increases of 3.8%.
