For Rent SignThe Wall Street Journal published a story today on a topic that is near and dear to those of us on team DARTON.

The topic?

The trend on how small businesses are utilizing “outsourced” CFOs to gain strategic and tactical financial expertise on a cost-effective basis.

The stormy economy demands that all businesses, especially small businesses, be hyper-focused on managing the  financial realities of today’s economy – – while concurrently preparing to emerge with a competitive advantage during the eventual turnaround .

The Wall Street Journal quoted several small business owners with experience in using outsourced CFOs. 

Their feedback?

  • “”It’s a tremendous cost-saving”
  • “It has really given us a level of confidence that we did not have in decision making”
  • “This is something I should have done a long time ago”
  • “To hire a CFO in the early-going is a waste of money…it’s much  better to invest that money in engineers and sales people”
