According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the total number of temporary help employees has risen by nearly 500,000 since September 2009, a 29 percent jump for the category. During the same period, overall private jobs have grown less than 1 percent.

Last week, NPR covered the upward trend in contract/temporary jobs in an article entitled “A Temporary Solution for a New American Worker“.  Did you know that many workers prefer temporary employment vs. traditional employment arrangements?  Did you know that some experts predict that the USA is on track to have 25% of the workforce made up of contract workers?
